One Plant Dispensary Antioch is a brand new dispensary that opened its doors in January of this year. It’s located in a large shopping center in the Antioch community. The store will sell cannabis products and accessories. In addition to the cannabis, it also plans to sell a line of vaping products.

Pros And Cons Of a Cannabis Dispensary In Antioch

The city of Antioch, California is considering allowing a third marijuana dispensary to open. Although some residents have questioned whether the city can keep up with the growing demand for cannabis products, others say the Medicinal and Adult-Use Cannabis Regulation and Safety Act (MAUCRSA) is a good policy.

Several members of the public spoke against the proposed project. Some cited the dangers of smoking and vaping. Others said they were concerned about children being exposed to cannabis. Nevertheless, the zoning board of appeals unanimously moved the cannabis ordinance forward.

The proposed facility will be located on Crow Court. It will have 7,260 square feet of space for a marijuana dispensary and paraphernalia. Of that total, 2,740 square feet will be reserved for manufacturing. There will also be an eight-car delivery service.

In the early days of the business, 24-hour security is a must. Security cameras and wrought-iron fencing are necessary. To keep up with regulations, the city’s planning commission has to approve the business.

The Medicinal and Adult-Use Regulation and Safety Act (MAUCRSA) also requires that the MMJ card holders register with a program to keep their card valid. They have to renew their registration every three years.

After the Antioch City Council rejected the first cannabis store in Rivertown last month, the council decided to move forward with a second marijuana dispensary. The facility will be located on a 1.15-acre lot.

Potential Uses For The Space

The aforementioned One Plant dispensary in Antioch, CA will soon be joining a handful of other One Plant locations in Northern California. This location is the most recent addition to Captor Retail Group’s dispensary portfolio. It’s the sixth store in the group’s state-wide footprint. A few of the other locations are located in Salinas, Atwater, and Contra Costa, and will open in the coming months. In terms of size, the Antioch One Plant location is actually quite large, occupying a full 6500 square feet of space.

Not surprisingly, it is also home to Radix Growth’s newest cannabis related project. As a part of its plan to expand cannabis distribution in the Bay Area, Radix plans to transform the 95,000 square foot building into an indoor cultivation facility. In return, the company plans to build a new home for its growing business and create a few jobs in the process.

As one might expect, the one plant antioch location has received all the regulatory approvals that one would expect. The facility will not only house its flagship retail operation, but it will also serve as an operational hub for CRG’s delivery ventures. Indeed, it will have a more than capable e-commerce operation, with the ability to support online fulfillment for a wide swath of the Bay Area market.
