The western oregon dispensary is an organization that is dedicated to providing the best quality of medical cannabis to their customers. Their business has gained the trust and respect of patients throughout the state. However, they still have some things to learn before they can become a success. They will need to understand what it takes to operate as a medical marijuana establishment. These include legality, licensing, and regulations.

Licensing

If you plan to open a dispensary or marijuana retail business in western Oregon, you’ll need to apply for a license with the Oregon Liquor Control Commission. There are three types of licenses available: retailer, laboratory and grower. Each type of license is different in the way it is required.

Retailers are allowed to dispense and sell marijuana to adults 21 years of age and over. In addition, they can only deliver cannabis items to people with an OLCC-approved license. The OLCC has issued hundreds of retail permits, and officials estimate that more than 850 will be granted by the end of the year.

To apply for a cannabis license in Oregon, you need to provide a number of documents. Most importantly, you’ll need a minimum amount of liquid cash on hand. You’ll also need a photo ID with a current photo and a valid date of birth.

Additionally, you’ll need to complete an OMMP (Oregon Marijuana Medical Program) application form. This consists of a few sections, and requires that you submit a letter of credit, CPA letters, bank statements, a letter of interest, and a business plan.

Regulations

The Oregon Liquor Control Commission has recently issued new rules for the marijuana industry. These regulations will help streamline the oversight of the industry and increase compliance. They will also put Oregon in line with other states on the use of cannabis.

The OLCC has issued six types of licenses to businesses involved in the industry. Each type of license is subject to strict regulatory oversight. For instance, products are only transferable between OLCC licensed facilities.

Under current regulations, dispensaries must be located at least 1,000 feet from schools. Additionally, no minors are allowed to enter the entry area.

A public consumption buffer zone is being considered for the 2019 legislative session. This would allow residents of other communities to consume in their homes.

The Oregon Medical Card program increased the minimum age for patients to 18. Patients can also possess up to six mature plants, and 16 ounces of usable marijuana.

Legality

The legality of western Oregon dispensaries is still unclear. While federal law makes it illegal to possess cannabis, recreational marijuana use is now legal in eight states. However, the use of marijuana in public places is still prohibited.

In Oregon, public use is limited to one ounce of usable marijuana. Public areas include public parks, playgrounds, and streets. Marijuana is also banned from public transportation, such as amusement parks.

A state-run website, “What’s Legal,” offers information on the legality of marijuana. It is maintained by the Oregon Liquor Control Commission (OLCC).

Adults over the age of 21 can grow up to four cannabis plants at home. They are also allowed to purchase a limited amount of cannabis. However, there are restrictions on how much THC content is in different products.
