According to KAIT Region 8 News, the City of Hardy has annexed land where a cannabis dispensary will be built, giving them the ability to collect additional sales tax revenue from Hardy and Fulton County.
Arkansas is on track for a record month for medical marijuana sales. In September alone, 38 dispensaries in the state sold an impressive 4,571 pounds of cannabis – marking this as their busiest month so far this year (2022).

Spring River Dispensary, situated outside Hardy in Fulton County, has recently been annexed by the city of Hardy and will receive all sales tax revenue generated by it, according to Fulton County Judge Gary Clayton.
Rose believes annexation is another way to strengthen the economic well-being of both the city and its residents. He strongly advocates for legal cannabis, believing it will be a beneficial influence on local economies.
He hopes that legalizing marijuana will reduce marijuana-related crimes in his community. He believes people are hesitant to open businesses that sell drugs, so he anticipates this new industry bringing jobs and business opportunities.
ABC approved three growers in early January: Bold Team LLC, Natural State Medicinals Cultivation, and Osage Creek Cultivation. Since then, four more producers — Doctors Order in Hot Springs, Good Day Farms in Pine Bluff, Big Fish in Heber Springs and Plant Family Therapeutics in Mountain Home — have started production and are expected to begin selling their product around May 10.
