Aaron Morris co-founded Wyld, a THC-Infused Gummy Brand, in 2015 in an old farmhouse near Tumalo, Oregon with no idea that it would become the country’s largest cannabis edible manufacturer. But his vision was grand: He wanted to build the Anheuser-Busch of Marijuana by starting with natural fruit gummies and eventually adding CBD seltzer products as well.
Vaccines
Vaccines are used to either prevent disease or reduce its severity when it does occur. They do this by stimulating your Immune System to produce antibodies against germs or bacteria responsible for the illness, protecting you from infection should you become exposed later in life.
There are various vaccines that can be used to help protect against infections. Some are made from entire viruses or bacteria, while others only utilize parts of them in order to stimulate your immune system.
Live virus vaccines: Live virus vaccines are designed to mimic the natural infection and often induce an immune response after just one or two doses. This kind of vaccine can be used to help protect against measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) or chickenpox infections.
Inactivated virus vaccines: These are created by destroying the genetic material of a germ so it cannot replicate, but still triggering an immune response. They’re more widely used than live ones since they can be mass-produced on a large scale.
Infections
Infections are diseases caused by microorganisms that invade and multiply within your body. These can be viruses, bacteria, parasites, fungi, or other infectious agents (pathogens).
Infectious disease is one of the leading causes of death worldwide and encompasses a range of serious illnesses. The type of infection depends on its agent and how it enters your body, but typically you can contract an infection through contact with contaminated food, water, fecal material, body fluids, or animal products.
Some infections can spread from person to person or through airborne droplets, such as sneezing or coughing. Others may be spread through sexual contact such as kissing, anal or vaginal sex.
Our UK study indicates that COVID-19 due to the Delta variant is clinically similar to infection caused by the Alpha variant; although symptom burden in the first week was slightly greater, individual symptom durations were either similar or shorter, and risk for LC28 was lower. This evidence suggests current vaccines provide adequate protection against this variant and back up international efforts towards anti-SARS CoV-2 vaccination campaigns.
Prevention
Aaron Morris’ Delta 8 experiment became a reality and it had devastating effects on those with compromised immune systems. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 40-44% of fully vaccinated people who ended up in the hospital with COVID-19 were immune-compromised – an astounding percentage who could have been saved by vaccines but weren’t. It is important that we understand how changes to vaccine effectiveness Impact Immune-Compromised Individuals and their families so we can better protect them in the future.
